Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Techsolutionpro ("NowSafar", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the NowSafar mobile application (the "App") for ride-hailing, city-to-city travel, parcel, and cargo delivery services (the "Services"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

NowSafar is operated by Techsolutionpro, registered at Apartment No 406, 4th Floor, J523+72F, Gulberg Greens Executive Block, Koral Town, Islamabad, 44000, Pakistan. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at privacy@nowsafar.com or call 0326 8329003.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

  • Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and password when you register as a passenger or driver. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
  • Profile information: your profile photo, and for drivers, a selfie photo.
  • Driver verification documents (drivers only): driving license (front and back), national ID card (front and back), passport, proof of address, and criminal record certificate, along with vehicle information (make, model, year, license plate, VIN) and vehicle documents (registration, insurance, inspection certificates and their expiry dates). These are required by law and by our safety standards to verify drivers before they can accept rides.
  • Chat content: text messages, photos, and voice recordings you send through the in-ride chat between passenger and driver.
  • Delivery proof photos: photos taken by drivers to confirm parcel/cargo delivery.
  • Payment information: when you top up your wallet, your card details are collected directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we never receive or store your full card number. We store your wallet balance and transaction history.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Location data (precise): with your permission, we collect your device's precise GPS location:
    • Passengers: when you set a pickup point, search destinations, and during an active trip, so we can show nearby drivers, calculate routes and fares, and let your driver find you.
    • Drivers: continuously while you are online and available, and during active trips (approximately every few seconds), so passengers can see your position and we can match you with nearby requests.
    • Location is collected only while the app is in use. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed.
  • Device information: a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you ride updates, and basic device/network status needed for the app to function.
  • Usage records: your ride history, offers made and accepted, cancellations, ratings, and wallet transactions.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect your contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, health data, or browsing history. The App contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and verify your identity (including driver KYC verification as required for safety and legal compliance).
  • To provide the core Services: matching passengers with drivers, showing live locations during trips, calculating routes, distances, and fares, and enabling in-ride communication.
  • To process wallet top-ups and payments through Stripe and maintain your transaction history.
  • To send you service notifications (ride requests, offer updates, driver arrival, trip status) via push notifications and in-app alerts.
  • To provide customer support, resolve disputes between riders and drivers, and investigate safety incidents.
  • To prevent fraud, enforce our terms of service, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling unrelated to the Services, or cross-app tracking.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as needed to provide the Services:

  • Between passengers and drivers: when a ride is matched, the passenger sees the driver's name, photo, rating, vehicle details, license plate, and live location; the driver sees the passenger's name, phone number, pickup/drop-off locations, and live pickup position. Chat messages and voice notes are delivered to the other party in the ride.
  • Stripe (payment processing): payment card details go directly from your device to Stripe. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Google (Places API): when you search for an address, your search text and approximate location are sent to Google to return address suggestions. See policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): your device push token, used solely to deliver notifications.
  • OpenStreetMap services (routing and reverse geocoding): trip coordinates are sent to route-calculation and address-lookup services to draw routes and display addresses.
  • Law enforcement and legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred, subject to this policy.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active.
  • Ride, delivery, and transaction records are retained after account deletion in anonymized/de-identified form as required for legal, tax, audit, and dispute-resolution purposes.
  • Driver verification documents are retained for as long as required by applicable law and for safety audit purposes.
  • Chat content is retained for the period necessary for support and dispute resolution, then deleted.

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time:

When you delete your account: all your active sessions are signed out immediately, your email is anonymized and your phone number is removed (so they can be reused), your push notification token is deleted, and your profile is deactivated permanently — you will not be able to log in again. Ride and payment records are retained in de-identified form as described in Section 5.

7. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data (you can edit your name, phone, and photo in Profile → Edit Profile).
  • Delete your account and data (Section 6).
  • Withdraw permissions (location, microphone, camera, photos, notifications) at any time in your device settings — note that withdrawing location permission will prevent core features from working.

Each permission is requested only when the related feature is used, and the App functions without optional permissions (microphone, camera, photos) if you decline them.

9. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS and secure WebSockets). Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel. Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe under PCI-DSS standards. Account deletion requires password re-confirmation to protect against unauthorized access. While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

Your information is processed and stored on servers located in [country where your backend/servers are hosted]. By using the App you consent to this processing. Service providers listed in Section 4 may process limited data in other countries under their own safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email, and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
